Vincent Van Gogh

This term our main focus is Art Alive, and the artist we are most hooked on is Vincent Van Gogh.

1.In a fit of anger he shot himself and two days later he died, because he was depressed and he thought that there was no point in his life.

2.He tried two other jobs before a painter. The other jobs were a Teacher, a preacher like his dad and the last job painter.

This picture I really like picture of sunflowers, he sold this picture for 88 Million dollars.

This next picture is really sad because he cut off his ear, put it in a shoe box and gave it to his girlfriend . Picture

Fono samoa

Fono Samoa is a program that brings all the, “Pacific.Island.Presbyterian.Church’s.” together. It is to perform a samoan dance and another culture's dance like Tonga, India and more (the performance is at night.)

This year’s host was Rainui P.I.P.C ( Sisifo \ West Auckland ) this year's theme for Fono Samoa was Toe Afua. It means begin again. All the games and activities where at Tepai stadium. The guest stars(For the day ) was Lape Marina he was the funniest (His presentation is on video on the top) ( From Jamoa Jam) and Filipo Tavega sio ( He wrote ‘The Samoan Who said Yes)

On the first day we had to arrive at the 7:00 am and there was a service.Breakfast was at 9:00am. We had to go to Tepai Stadium to split up into our age groups. But first we had praise and worship.

“ All the primary and intermediate kids go to the Kowhai room number two”! So we did. The first thing we did was JUMP JAM. Then we did some painting on a butterfly.Mine was so ugly.

“Afternoon tea “! They shouted at us as we were working! Seriously everybody was gone in an instant. We had tuna rolls, an apple and milo.

After a few hours we went back to the church and we had dinner we were catered by Manhatten . The curry and the fish was the best. I was pleased with the food but at 7:00pm was the youth rally. ( Guest star RIA was going to sing)

We arrived and then did some praise and worship. My church was the sixth one up on stage (The schedule on the bottom) I was so tired after the youth rally, but it was so fun.

Frog Report

Amphibians are more unusual than most other animals, they are very magnificent because they can live in and out water. Did you know that all Amphibians are cold blooded? Newts, Salamanders, Toads and Caecilians are all amphibians. Some Amphibians are poisonous .


A Frog's habitat are in cold damp places like, under leaves, in slow moving waters, rain forests, in damp logs and some live in trees.( like the South American tree Frog.) There are a special kind of frog named the Maud island Frog, they never swim.

Did you know that they have to keep moisture or they will die, because if their skin is dried up, then they can not breath. Did you know that that half of the air they absorb is through their skin. Thats why they need to keep their skin moisture .


Despite having so many enemies the Frog managers to survive, because they have so many babies. Some of the enemies are, Owls, Lizards, Birds, sharp toothed fish and Hedgehogs. Did you know that some frogs lay 5000 eggs a time.

Did you know that when Frogs hibernate they breath through its skin while, it hibernates under slow moving waters. They Hibernate because when winter comes all the food dies or is resting so their is no food. Secondly they are cold blooded so they will freeze to death.
I think that in the future I want see a real Frog or toad. Did you know that French people eat Frogs?

2012 year 5&6 camp.

"WOW"! I said to myself, when I saw all the tents on the school field. Did you know that we have over 120 children plus two teachers? My team was true crew, in my tent was Wyatt. For some year five it was there first time sleeping in a tent.

The thing I was most looking forward to before camp was the amazing race. But it turns out that it was the thing I Least liked.Because we got lost in the bush and we kept running back and forth.

The thing I liked the most was kayaking. I thought that it was cool because at the end we got to jump of the rock into the water.Luckily for me I did not fall into the water. Did you know most of the people fell of?

The funniest thing that happened was when, I woke up at 3:00 am listening to Lorenzo or Mr Marks snoring like a pig . But I don’t know who it was out of those two , it might of been someone else, but it came from their corner of the field. Did you know 90% of men snore? 1:2

My goal for the 2012 camp is to be respectful to the teachers, go to sleep when asked and to be kind to the year 5’s. I’m pretty sure that I did all of the things listed.

Did you know that my dad came in to guard at night till 3:30am and he had a meeting at 9:00am. I love camp because you got to get away from school, home and jobs! I really liked camp and I can’t wait till the next camp.

Historic Files Esrah. ( Kiwis reading group)

have been reading a story set in the future called Space Nuts Light Speed by Simon Cooke. Just like in this story, I have written a historical file about an object named a Barbie doll . My prediction is that in 5000,000,000 years there will be no barbie dolls. The thing I think little girls might play with is a robotic bear.

Can't wait till camp.

"Yes." I thought to myself.It's in two days! This year I am year six, that means that this is my second year at camp (It's a year five and six camp.) But it's a bit different because, Ms Garden said this year it's going to be cooler than last year.New games, activity and food.

This year I am looking forward to playing table tennis. Because I like table tennis and also have a table tennis set at home.

But! The thing that I am anxious about are. Fart bombs!!!!! Seriously mate its like I'm at war because there are all kinds of different sound and smells like bombs machine guns and silent bombs.( No offence and please do not take it personally.)

This camp my goal is to go to sleep on time and to be kind to year fives. And also my friends and the teachers.
